LIVERPOOL MISS STURRIDGE

Liverpool’s shocking 3-1 defeat against Hull City saw them dropping points and not being able to clinch a higher position in the Premier League standings as they are slowly getting further away from the table toppers Arsenal.

The defeat not only made them lower their position in the league but also seeing their top goal-scorer Daniel Sturridge picking up and injury that will leave him out of the playing grounds for an estimated time of 8 weeks.
The English forward strained the ligaments in his left ankle and Philippe Coutinho had to have injections just to get on the bench during that match.

Rodgers said: “The quality of our squad, with all due respect, isn’t big enough to cope with missing two big players. Daniel’s out for what could be eight weeks, which is a big blow for us.

“Philippe didn’t train all week. He’s had an ankle strain and has had to have injections just to get on the bench. They’re two good players that have been very efficient for us this season.”

Rodgers added: “This is a very busy period we’re coming into. We’re a squad that needs as many of our good players as possible. We’ve got others that will hopefully come in and stake their claim now.”

This injury represents a huge blow for Liverpool as they have been enjoying one of their best Premier League starts for the past few years and the momentum needs to continue going on if Liverpool wants to get back into the Champions League.

The Liverpool striker scored the last goal of his club’s match against Everton as he rescued 1 point for the Premier League team and their loss against Hull City, it seems as if Liverpool are losing the pace and prowess they had at the initial stages of the season.
